Our Roots

The term oikos comes from the Greek, meaning “household”, “home” or “place to live”. In 1866 it was used by the German biologist, Ernst Haeckel, was coined the term ecology (oekologie) based on that.

Our OIKOS story began back in 2001, where landscape protection and preservation field students came together to meet environmental challenges and promote sustainability in management.
Today, many years later, we are re-united to face the same challenges again.

Our team has extensive expertise in environmental protection, construction and agriculture technologies, which give us a steady base for promoting urban farming.
